NDLEA in Kaduna Arrests 420 Drug Suspects, Seizes Tons of Drugs

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kaduna State has arrested 420 drug suspects, including 404 males and 16 females, within a recent period.

The suspects were involved in drug dealing, use, and trafficking.

According to the NDLEA Commander in the state, Samaila Danmalam, the agency seized a significant amount of illicit substances, including cocaine, cannabis sativa, Rohypnol, tramadol, methamphetamine, and other psychotropic substances, totaling 1,045.93kg.

Additionally, the command recovered 1,393 rounds of ammunition and four locally made firearms.

In its efforts to combat the drug menace, the NDLEA has secured convictions for 30 drug offenders and charged 54 suspects, while investigations into other cases are ongoing.

The agency has also implemented drug demand reduction programs, counseling 50 drug users and rehabilitating 50 drug-dependent individuals.

Danmalam emphasized the command’s commitment to combating illicit drug trafficking and urged the public to provide timely information to assist in their operations.
