Pogba Set to Return in March 2025 After Successful CAS Appeal Reduces Doping Ban

Paul Pogba could make his return to action with Juventus as early as March 2025 after successfully appealing his four-year ban for doping to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

In February, Italy’s national anti-doping tribunal (Nado) imposed the ban on Pogba, but following his appeal, he is now eligible to return to training in January.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, his suspension has been reduced to 18 months, starting from September 11, 2023, as confirmed by CAS director general Matthieu Reeb.

Upon receiving the ban, the 31-year-old expressed his feelings of sadness and heartbreak, stating, “I am shocked that everything I have built in my professional career has been taken away from me.”

Pogba tested positive for testosterone metabolites during Juventus’ Serie A opener against Udinese in the 2023/24 season, where he was an unused substitute.

The former France international, once celebrated as one of football’s most exciting talents, returned to Juventus in 2022 after a six-year stint at Manchester United.

His transfer to the English Premier League in 2016 made him the world’s most expensive player at that time, with Manchester United paying £89 million to acquire him from Juve, where he is contracted until 2026.

Pogba played a crucial role in France’s 2018 World Cup victory, scoring in the final against Croatia. However, he missed the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to a knee injury.
