Former Women Affairs Minister Pauline Tallen Mourns Sudden Death of Son Richard at 42

Dame Pauline Tallen, the immediate past Minister of Women Affairs, is mourning the loss of her only son, Richard, who passed away at Cedar Crest Hospital in Abuja on Sunday morning, October 6, after being hospitalized.

According to Daily Trust, the cause of his death is not yet known, but he had been placed on oxygen in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the night of Friday, October 4.

Richard’s alma mater, the Vom Old Boys’ Association (VOBA), confirmed his passing on social media, stating he died in Abuja following a brief illness. They expressed their condolences with the message: “On a very sad note, we regret to announce the sudden passing of our member, Mr Richard Adamu Tallen. Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord, may perpetual light shine upon him. May the soul of Richard and all departed VOBA members RIP. Amen,” the group posted on Facebook on Sunday afternoon.”

The late Richard, a 42-year-old graduate of Computer Science from a university in the United States, is survived by his wife and three children. The family will announce burial arrangements soon.
