Nigerian Journalist Agba Jalingo Mourns Brother Killed in Herdsmen Attack

Nigerian journalist, Agba Jalingo, has mourned the death of his younger brother, who was killed in a recent attack by suspected herdsmen in Benue State.

The attack occurred on Independence Day in the Eguma community, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and seven villagers.

Jalingo confirmed that one of the deceased soldiers was his brother.

The journalist wrote: “Again, tragedy has befallen my family and Bedia village. My younger brother AB. CA Agba SS7358, who was serving as part of the Nigerian Navy contingent of Operation Whirl Stroke OPWS, in Benue State was killed in an attack in Agatu LGA, on 1st October 2024. 

“Their deployment at Eguma Community in Agatu LGA was attacked by armed bandits. May your soul find safe passage.”
