The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old ward head, Usamatu Adamu, for allegedly providing information to bandits operating in the state.
Adamu, a resident of Runka village in Safana Local Government Area, was apprehended on October 3rd, 2024.
Two accomplices, Rabe Sada (62) and Nasiru Sha’aibu (48), were also arrested in connection with the case. Preliminary investigations revealed their involvement in the kidnapping of four individuals from Runka village.
According to the police spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq, Adamu was tracked down based on credible intelligence linking him to several kidnapping incidents in the area. During interrogation, he admitted to providing information to a notorious bandit kingpin, Umar, who is believed to be hiding in the Runka forest.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing, and further arrests are expected as the authorities continue to unravel the extent of the criminal network.
