A 41-year-old man, Aliu Ibrahim, has been arrested in Ogun State for allegedly sexually abusing his 12-year-old daughter, Rodiat Ibrahim.
The arrest follows a report by the child’s mother, Egbebi Temitope, who alleges that Ibrahim had been abusing their daughter during her holidays.
According to Temitope, she became aware of the abuse after taking Rodiat to the hospital for persistent vaginal discharge. Medical examination revealed that the child had likely been sexually abused.
Oja-Odan Divisional Police Headquarters responded promptly to the report, arresting Ibrahim on October 10, 2024. Preliminary investigation is ongoing, and the suspect is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal and Investigation Department for further investigation.
The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed Ibrahim’s arrest.
