Air Peace Executive Wanted for Fraud

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia has issued an arrest warrant for 42-year-old Ejiroghene Eghagha, the Chief of Finance and Administration of Air Peace, a Nigerian airline.

Eghagha is accused of participating in a multi-million dollar fraud scheme involving Allen Onyema, the owner of Air Peace. Onyema, who has been a fugitive since 2019, was indicted on charges of bank fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering in connection with the scheme.

In 2017, Onyema used fraudulent letters of credit to purchase the same Boeing aircraft multiple times, allegedly laundering millions of dollars. Eghagha is accused of helping him cover up the scheme by creating a false contract to mislead investigators.

The new arrest warrant for Eghagha comes as Onyema faces additional charges of obstruction of justice for his attempts to derail the investigation.

Both Onyema and Eghagha are believed to be avoiding arrest by staying outside the United States.
