The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State has successfully thwarted an armed robbery attempt and recovered a stolen vehicle. The incident occurred in the Onibu-Eja community along the Iwo-Ibadan road.
According to the NSCDC State Commandant, Michael Adaralewa, a four-man gang of armed robbers invaded a home in the early hours of Saturday, October 12th. The assailants, armed with firearms, forced the occupants to surrender their vehicle.
Upon receiving a distress call from local residents, NSCDC officers on patrol immediately responded to the scene. A gunfight ensued between the security personnel and the robbers, resulting in the suspects fleeing the area. The stolen Toyota Corolla, with chassis number 1NXBU40E49Z005008, was recovered and taken into custody by the NSCDC.
Commandant Adaralewa commended his officers for their swift response and bravery in neutralizing the threat. He also expressed gratitude to the community members for providing timely information.
The NSCDC boss reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting the public and ensuring the safety of residents. He issued a stern warning to criminals operating in the state, vowing to bring them to justice.
