The police in Kano State have arraigned a man for allegedly assaulting his wife and causing her serious chest injuries following a minor dispute.
The suspect, Umar Inusa, had reportedly asked his daughters to go to the house of his other wife for lunch. His wife’s objection to this decision angered him, and he allegedly attacked her.
He was charged with using excessive force, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Kadi, Shamsuddeen Ado Abdullahi Unguwar Gini, granted him bail on the grounds that they were still married with children.
The case was adjourned until November 20 for witness testimony.
