Brazilian footballer Vinicius Tobias has faced a public embarrassment after discovering that his newborn daughter is not his.
The former Real Madrid player, currently with Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, had recently welcomed a daughter, Maite, on October 8, with his ex-girlfriend, Ingrid Lima.
To celebrate, he got her name tattooed on his arm along with a declaration of love: ‘te amo,’ which means “I love you” in Portuguese.

However, Lima has now revealed on social media that Tobias is not the child’s biological father. According to her, she had been involved with another man during her separation from Tobias. A paternity test confirmed that Maite is not his daughter.
Lima said: “I came to give a statement about something that is getting annoying and that, unfortunately, I would have to come out on publicly to give you an explanation.
“Vinicius and I haven’t been together for a while. During that time, I was in a relationship with someone and so was he. We both moved on with our lives.
“In the meantime, Maite came along. We decided to do a DNA test, and Maite is not Vinicius’ daughter.”

The news has come as a shock to Tobias, who had been overjoyed at the birth of his child.

The young footballer, who joined Real Madrid’s academy from Brazil, is now facing the public fallout of this unexpected revelation.
