Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu has urged parents with loved ones in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), to talk to them about prioritising their security.
He said that many things are happening in the school and that the management of the institution is allegedly trying to cover up these incidents.
Gwamnishu shared the story of how a 17-year-old girl identified as Joy Eze, left for lectures and never returned home alive. Her body was discovered the next day with her face severely battered and swollen.
Gwamnishu said that this is not the first case that has been received from the institution. He recollected how a girl was called from the school to pick up an item for dispatch but was later kidnapped, and how a young man was also kidnapped from the school.
‘’If you have a daughter in UNN, call her and hold her ears,” Gwamnishu said. “A lot of things are happening in that school and the school authority are not doing enough to see how they can manage it. and the ones happening, they cover it up. This girl went for lecture and never returned back. If you have a child in that school, caution them. Talk to them!”
Gwamnishu shared a video of his warning on his social media page.
