The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded Nigeria three points and three goals for the game against Libya that was missed.
This decision follows a thorough investigation into the recent controversy surrounding Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya, as stated by CAF President Patrice Motsepe.
He emphasized that the continental body would not tolerate any lack of sportsmanship or unfair treatment in African football.
On Saturday, Ousmane Kane, Chairperson of the CAF Disciplinary Board, announced in a signed statement that the disciplinary committee found Libya guilty of the inhumane treatment inflicted on the Nigerian senior men’s football team, leading to the decision to award Nigeria the points.
