The Gombe State Police Command has apprehended Jonathan James in connection with the murder of his 65-year-old aunt, Ramatu Musa. The incident occurred on October 21, 2024, in the Badagaza Quarters area.
According to a statement released by the police spokesperson, ASP Buhari Abdullahi, James fatally stabbed his aunt with a knife. Following the attack, the victim was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police swiftly responded to the incident, arresting James and recovering the murder weapon.
The statement read: ““On 21/10/2024 at about 0215hrs distress call has it that on the same date at about 0135hrs the above mentioned suspect had fatally stabbed his Aunty one Ramatu Musa ‘F’ 65yrs old of the same address with a sharp knife as a result she sustained serious injury on her chest.”
“On receiving the information, patrol team from Pantami division led by ASP Girema Yahaya rushed to the scene and evacuated the victim to specialist hospital Gombe for medical attention where she was examine and certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor.
“The scene of crime was visited and the suspect arrested. A knife was recovered as exhibit, the suspect will soon be charged to court for prosecution.”
