A tragic incident has unfolded in Ogun State, Nigeria, where a teenage boy named Monday Ariyo has reportedly died after being subjected to 164 brutal floggings.
According to social media reports, the incident occurred at Obada Grammar School in Imeko Afon Local Government Area. The boy’s teacher allegedly flogged him 164 times, leading to his collapse.
The teacher is said to have become incensed after Ariyo questioned the purchase of a dustbin for the classroom. The principal reportedly approved the punishment.
The boy was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta, but his condition worsened, and he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
A video circulating online shows the boy’s body being transported in an ambulance.
Social media users have expressed outrage over the incident and demanded justice.
