A fatal shooting occurred at the Vancouver Mall in Vancouver, Washington, USA, on Thursday night, 31st October, during a Halloween trick-or-treating event.
The incident took place at the second-floor food court around 7:30 PM, causing shoppers to flee for safety.
One person lost their life in the shooting, while two others were injured and taken to a local hospital. Their current conditions are unknown

The Vancouver Police Department reassured the public that there was no ongoing threat within the mall and that officers were actively contacting individuals who had sheltered in place. The department promised to release further information as it becomes available.
The tragic event unfolded during the conclusion of the mall’s annual “Boo-tacular Trick-or-Treating” celebration, where families were encouraged to dress in costumes and collect sweets from participating stores. The event was scheduled to end at 8 PM.

Gregory Iiams, a local resident, described the chaotic scene. He and his family had just finished trick-or-treating and were inside the Round1 bowling alley when people started rushing out. Upon learning of the active shooter situation, Iiams immediately took steps to protect his children.
Authorities have yet to release details about the shooter or the victims involved in the incident.
