Gunmen have abducted a middle-aged businessman in the Alor community, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening, 3 November 2024, as the victim was driving home from a function.
Sources in the area reported that the gunmen ambushed the victim’s car, a Toyota Corolla with the number plate EKY-102GK, near Ezeani Primary School. They smashed the car’s windscreen, assaulted the driver, and forced him into their vehicle before fleeing the scene.
A video circulating on social media shows the abandoned vehicle, covered in bloodstains.
The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway.

Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga said that the victim was abducted by unidentified individuals and that the police are working to rescue him and apprehend the suspects.
