Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers attacked Amal Pepple Estate in Lugbe, Abuja, in the early hours of Monday morning.
A terrifying ordeal unfolded as sporadic gunfire rang out around 12:15 AM, sending shockwaves through the usually peaceful neighbourhood. The assailants, who were eventually repelled by a joint effort of estate security and police, managed to abduct two residents.
A young man who narrowly escaped the attack sustained serious machete injuries to his arm. His mother, along with another individual, was taken hostage by the kidnappers.
