Plateau Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers

The Plateau State Police Command has successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of kidnapping a 38-year-old man and demanding a substantial ransom of N10 million from his family.

The victim was rescued by police officers during a gunfight with the kidnappers in a forest within the Rantiya community of Jos South Local Government Area.

Parading the suspects at the Rantiya police divisional headquarters on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, revealed that the arrests were made following the diligent efforts of the DPO and his team.

“Following the kidnapping incident on October 23rd, 2024, where a 38-year-old man from Port Harcourt was abducted and a ransom of N10 million was demanded, Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, is pleased to announce the arrest of two suspects,” the statement read.

The arrested suspects, identified as Aminu Abdullahi (30) and Suleiman Mohammed (20), were apprehended in the Gold and Base area of Jos South LGA on November 5th, 2024. The victim positively identified Suleiman Mohammed as one of the kidnappers.

During interrogation, Aminu Abdullahi confessed to receiving payments from Suleiman Mohammed on two occasions, totaling N15,000.
