Gunmen suspected to be cultists have killed a man in Edo State. The victim, identified as Danladi, was set to be married in December.
The incident occurred at a friend’s shop located near the Esigie Police Division in Oredo Local Government Area. The victim was shot twice at close range by assailants who emerged from a GLK Benz jeep.
A source told NAN, “Danladi is an easy-going guy. He was the son of Seriki Hausa in the area. His death has created a huge vacuum in his family and a painful loss to his would-be wife. He had started sending invitation cards for his wedding to guests. He was billed to tie the knot with his partner in December.”
Confirming the incident, the State Police Command spokesperson, SP Moses Yamu, stated, “The command is doing everything within the law to tame cultism in the state. The situation has been brought under control.”
Yamu urged members of the public to cooperate with the police by providing information to help combat cultism and related crimes in the state.
