A man caused panic on a Korean Air flight from Bangkok to Incheon after attempting to open an emergency door mid-flight.
The incident occurred on flight KE658 on November 7th. The unnamed man, who was seated in a cabin crew seat without permission, was reportedly aggressive and threatened a flight attendant when asked to move.
Dramatic footage shows flight attendants struggling to restrain the man as he grabbed the door latch and attempted to open it. The crew successfully managed to subdue the man and moved him to a separate area to calm down.
The Airbus A330-300, carrying 238 passengers, landed safely at Incheon International Airport around 4:45 AM.
The man was subsequently handed over to the Incheon International Airport Police for further investigation.
Korean Air released a statement, saying, “The incident was managed according to our established security protocols, to prioritise passenger safety and operational integrity.
“While the situation was successfully contained, we will cooperate with relevant authorities in the investigation of this matter. Korean Air maintains a zero-tolerance approach to behaviours that compromise aviation safety and will continue to respond decisively to such incidents.”
