The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kogi State has apprehended three individuals suspected of criminal conspiracy and vandalism.
Commandant Esther Akinlade paraded the suspects at the command headquarters in Lokoja on Wednesday, 13 November. She explained that the crimes occurred on 7th and 20th October in Ankpa and Isanlu, both located in Yagba East Local Government Area.
One of the suspects, 33-year-old Agbo Christian from Enugu State, was arrested while vandalising armoured cables at the Nigerian Television Authority premises in Ankpa. Tools used in the crime, including a saw, chisel, and spanners, were recovered.
Two other suspects, James Nifemi (29) and Ibrahim Jafaru (37), were apprehended in Isanlu for stealing armoured cables from a community transformer.
Commandant Akinlade commended the efforts of security guards, NSCDC officers, and community members in apprehending the suspects. She urged the public to continue cooperating with security agencies to combat crime in the state.
The arrested individuals, who confessed to their involvement, are awaiting prosecution.
