65-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Pushed to Death by Neighbor During Heated Argument

The police in Ogun State have launched an investigation into the unfortunate death of a 65-year-old woman, Oladega Morenike, allegedly pushed to death during a heated argument with a female neighbor, Abigel Bankole, in their residence located on Isunba Street in the Ipokia area of the state on November 21.

The son of the deceased, Ibrahim Oladega, reported to the police that at about 4:20 PM, his mother, 65-year-old Oladega Morenike (now deceased), had an argument with a neighbor, Abigel Bankole.

Ibrahim alleged that this confrontation escalated into a fight during which the deceased was pushed, causing her to hit her head against a wall and collapse.

Upon receiving the report, detectives were dispatched to the scene, where they found the victim lying on her back. A photograph was taken, and her body was transported to the General Hospital in Ipokia, where she was pronounced dead by a doctor.

The body was subsequently moved to the mortuary at General Hospital, Ilaro, for an autopsy. The suspect fled the scene and is currently at large, with active efforts underway to apprehend her.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, said preliminary investigations are ongoing by the police, and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation.
