Sahara Reporters has reported that a female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has alleged physical assault by staff members at the Government Day Junior Secondary School, Kulende, Ilorin, Kwara State.
The incident reportedly occurred when the corps member visited the school to collect her clearance letter. According to an anonymous source cited by Sahara Reporters, the altercation began when one of the teachers accused the corps member of “not greeting properly.”
“A teacher said she did not greet well, and that was how it all started. The teacher beat her and tore her clothes,” the source revealed.
The situation has sparked concerns over the safety and welfare of NYSC members serving in Kwara State.
Speaking to Sahara Reporters, the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Carol Lembu, confirmed that the matter was being addressed. “It is being addressed accordingly. Thank you,” she said on Friday morning.
