A man identified as Fatai Hamzat was discovered dead in his flat in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Friday morning, 29 November 2024.
According to neighbours, Hamzat was found hanging from a rope tied to the ceiling fan in his flat on Oremeji Street, Ijeun Tuntun.
They became concerned after noticing his motorcycle parked outside but receiving no response despite repeatedly knocking on his door.
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the suspected suicide. The body has been taken to a mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
