Saturday’s Premier League saw Arsenal thrash West Ham 5-2 to climb to second, while Bournemouth beat Wolves 4-2 with Justin Kluivert scoring a hat-trick of penalties. Nottingham Forest edged Ipswich 1-0, Crystal Palace held Newcastle to a 1-1 draw, and Brentford came from behind to beat Leicester 4-1, powered by Kevin Schade’s hat-trick.
West Ham United 2-5 Arsenal
Arsenal produced a commanding first-half performance to secure a thrilling 5-2 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium. Gabriel Magalhães’ ninth-minute header opened the scoring, sparking a flurry of goals. Leandro Trossard doubled the lead, followed by a Martin Ødegaard penalty and a composed finish from Kai Havertz, all before the interval.
West Ham briefly rallied with a composed strike from Aaron Wan-Bissaka and a stunning free-kick by Emerson, but Bukayo Saka converted a second Arsenal penalty just before half-time to restore their commanding lead. A quieter second half saw Arsenal cruise to victory, moving them to second in the table with 25 points, six adrift of leaders Liverpool. Arsenal have now scored 13 goals in their last three matches, signalling a resurgence in form.
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-4 AFC Bournemouth
Justin Kluivert made Premier League history with a hat-trick of penalties, guiding Bournemouth to a 4-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
Kluivert’s first penalty arrived in the third minute, but Wolves quickly equalised through Jørgen Strand Larsen. Milos Kerkez restored Bournemouth’s lead with a brilliant strike, and two more penalties from Kluivert sealed the win despite a second goal from Strand Larsen.
Bournemouth now sit 11th in the table with 18 points, while Wolves remain in the relegation zone in 18th with just nine points.
Nottingham Forest 1-0 Ipswich Town
Chris Wood’s second-half penalty secured Nottingham Forest a 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town at the City Ground. The penalty, awarded after Jota Silva was fouled, saw Wood equal the club’s record as their joint-top Premier League scorer.
Forest defended resolutely, including a crucial goal-line clearance by Ola Aina, to secure the win. They climb to sixth place with 22 points, while Ipswich remain in 19th place with nine points, firmly in the relegation zone.
Crystal Palace 1-1 Newcastle United
Crystal Palace earned a last-gasp draw against Newcastle United thanks to Daniel Muñoz’s stoppage-time header. Newcastle had taken the lead through Mark Guehi’s own goal but struggled to create chances, failing to register a single shot on target.
Newcastle’s woes were compounded by an injury to Alexander Isak, leaving manager Eddie Howe frustrated with his side’s late collapse. Palace, however, celebrated Muñoz’s first goal for the club as they secured a vital point.
Brentford 4-1 Leicester City
Kevin Schade stole the spotlight with a hat-trick and an assist as Brentford came from behind to beat Leicester City 4-1. Facundo Buonanotte gave Leicester an early lead, but Schade inspired a swift response, setting up Yoane Wissa and then scoring three goals himself.
Brentford, unbeaten at home this season, move up to seventh in the table, while Leicester sit in 16th, with mounting pressure from their travelling supporters.
