The win extended Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points, leaving Pep Guardiola’s side languishing in fifth after their first four-match losing streak in the league since 2008.
Liverpool’s relentless attack was on full display, with Virgil van Dijk coming close twice before Gakpo tapped in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross in the 12th minute. Salah sealed the win with a penalty in the 78th minute after Luis Díaz was fouled. Arne Slot’s side remain unbeaten in the Champions League and lead the Premier League with 34 points after 13 games, cementing their title credentials.

Manchester United 4-0 Everton
Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee shone as Manchester United trounced Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford, marking a dream Premier League debut for new manager Ruben Amorim.
Rashford opened the scoring with a volley in the 34th minute, and Zirkzee doubled the lead shortly after, capitalising on an intercepted goal kick. Chelsea 3-0 Aston Villa
Chelsea cruised to a 3-0 home victory over Aston Villa, moving to joint second in the league. Goals from Nicolas Jackson, captain Enzo Fernández, and Cole Palmer highlighted a commanding performance against a struggling Villa side.
Jackson opened the scoring in the 7th minute, and Fernández doubled the lead after a defensive lapse. Palmer capped the night with a stunning lofted strike. Villa’s woes continued as they dropped to 11th in the table, compounded by an injury to goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.
Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Fulham
Tom Cairney was the hero and villain for Fulham, scoring the equaliser in their 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur before being sent off late in the game.
Brennan Johnson gave Spurs the lead in the 54th minute, but Cairney levelled with a brilliant curling shot in the 67th. His dismissal for a rash challenge left Fulham under pressure, but they held on for a point. Fulham sit 10th, while Spurs are seventh, three points adrift of the top four.
