Emir Sanusi II Blocked from Attending Royal Ceremony by Armed Security Operatives

In a dramatic turn of events on Friday morning, heavily armed security personnel prevented Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II from attending a royal ceremony in Kano State.

The Emir, who was scheduled to preside over the presentation of a staff of office to the new District Head of Bichi, was allegedly blocked from leaving the Kano Emir’s Palace. Reports suggest that security operatives, including those in armoured vehicles, were stationed at the entrance of the palace and ordered the Emir to remain indoors.

A source within the Kano Emirate revealed that Emir Sanusi II made several calls in an attempt to understand the reasons behind the action, but as of the time of reporting, no official explanation has been provided.

Adding to the tension, a delegation from Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, sent to the Emir’s palace, was also reportedly denied access by the security forces. Meanwhile, the venue for the coronation in Bichi was similarly cordoned off.

This unexpected development has raised widespread questions and concerns across Kano State, with many residents eagerly awaiting clarification on the situation.
