A 40-year-old British man, Stuart Worby, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for a horrific crime. He secretly administered abortion-inducing drugs to a pregnant woman, causing her to miscarry.
The victim, who was 15 weeks pregnant, experienced severe symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and bleeding after Worby spiked her drink with mifepristone and later inserted misoprostol.
Worby’s callous actions were premeditated. He obtained the drugs by deceiving a friend’s partner into getting a prescription. In a cruel twist, he sexually assaulted the victim while she was blindfolded before administering the drugs.
The victim’s emotional impact statement detailed the profound grief and trauma she endured. She expressed deep regret for failing to protect her unborn child and the devastating realization that she may never be able to conceive again.
Nueza Cepeda, who procured the drugs for Worby, was sentenced to 22 months in prison, suspended for two years. Wayne Finney, Worby’s accomplice, was acquitted of charges related to the crime.
