Bandits Kidnap 13 in Katsina, Student Abducted in Kaduna

Bandits have carried out two separate attacks in Katsina State, kidnapping a total of 13 people.

On Monday night, December 9th, 2024, gunmen stormed Unguwar Dahiru in Funtua Local Government Area, injuring two people and abducting ten others, both men and women. This was confirmed by conflict and crisis journalist, Bakatsine.

Just hours later, another group of bandits blocked a road near Jarumai in Dandume Local Government Area, kidnapping two travellers and stealing their motorcycles.

A resident of Unguwar Dahiru, Bala Ishiaku, confirmed the incident and stated that the families of the victims have yet to be contacted for ransom.

In a separate incident, Baraka Abdulkarim, a 400-level student at the School of Health in Makarfi, Kaduna State, was reportedly kidnapped last week while returning home to Funtua from school.
