Nnadozie Among Final Three for CAF Women’s Player of the Year

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been shortlisted for the 2024 CAF Women’s Player of the Year award. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the final three nominees on Thursday, 12th December 2024.

Nnadozie, the only goalkeeper on the list, is vying to become the first goalkeeper to win the prestigious award since its inception in 2001. She faces stiff competition from the final three nominees: Zambia’s Barbara Banda and Morocco’s Sanna Mssoudy.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a stellar year, earning the Goalkeeper of the Season award in the French women’s league. She also represented Nigeria at the Paris Olympics, showcasing impressive performances despite the team’s early exit.

The 2024 CAF Awards ceremony, where the winners will be announced, is scheduled for 16th December in Marrakech, Morocco.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali did not make the final shortlist for Goalkeeper of the Year.
