An unidentified adult male driver was killed in a multiple lorry accident on Kara Bridge Outwards Lagos State in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 18th December.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:26 AM, according to a statement released by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
The accident involved a lorry carrying several rolls of steel coils and a 40-foot container without its lorry head.
LASEMA spokesperson Nosa Okunbor stated that the lorry driver lost control while attempting to avoid a collision with the 40-foot container, causing the lorry to overturn and spill its cargo onto the carriageway.
Tragically, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene before the arrival of the LASEMA response team.
LASEMA’s response team immediately activated necessary safety measures and implemented traffic control measures with road diversions in place.
Collaborative efforts are currently underway to clear the debris and restore vehicular traffic flow on the bridge.
