A fatal accident involving a Toyota RAV4 occurred on Friday, 3rd January 2025, along the Mabushi-Nicon Junction Expressway in Abuja. One person was killed, and two others sustained injuries of varying degrees.
The accident is believed to have resulted from the driver losing control. The vehicle veered off the road, striking several trees before overturning.
Emergency responders, including the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO), and the Nigerian Police, arrived at the scene. The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured were transported to Maitama General Hospital for treatment.
A survivor, who wished to remain anonymous, attributed the accident to the driver’s apparent negligence, alleging that he had fallen asleep at the wheel.
The incident drew a large crowd of onlookers who expressed their condolences to the affected families.
