Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Invited to U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast

Nigerian pastor and gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has been invited to take part in the U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., on 20th January 2025.

The event, hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner, will be held prior to the inauguration of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.

Nathaniel Bassey wrote on his Instagram page: “Let’s raise a sound in America . And let the King of Glory come in. See you. 20th January, 2025

“The Presidential Prayer Breakfast is a non-official and non-governmental event. It is a Faith Based platform where intercessory prayers and worship are offered to God on behalf of the office of the president and government of the nation. This event is held once in four years preceding the inauguration ceremony as a breakfast prayer meeting ahead of every new administration. And over the years has been attended by leaders and dignitaries from around the world.”

Bassey, who hails from Akwa Ibom, is no stranger to the U.S. In 2024, the Mayor of Albany, New York, declared 6th October as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day” in the city.

Renowned for his powerful worship songs and as the founder of the globally recognised Hallelujah Challenge, Bassey is famous for tracks such as ‘Imela,’ ‘Onise Iyanu,’ and ‘Olowogbogboro,’ and many others.”

His music combines a variety of styles, from traditional hymns to jazz-infused melodies, which has earned him international recognition as one of Nigeria’s leading gospel ministers.
