Niger Police Arrest Three Armed Robbers, Including Ex-Offender, in Minna

The Niger State Police Command has apprehended three suspected armed robbers, including an ex-offender, who were planning to burgle a provision store in Minna.

According to a statement released on Monday, 6th January 2025, by the command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the suspects were arrested in a hotel room following a credible intelligence tip-off.

The arrested individuals are Jibrin Ndako, 19, of Barikin-Sale, recently released from prison for motorcycle theft, Haruna Abubakar, 20, of Angwan-Kamfani, and Aliyu Abdullahi, 18, of Kpakungu.

The police apprehended the suspects in a hotel room along Eastern Bye-Pass, Minna, where they were found in possession of three cutlasses and an industrial iron cutter.

During interrogation, Ndako confessed that he had brought his accomplices from Agaie to Minna to assist him in breaking into a targeted provision store in Barikin-Sale.

The suspects have been transferred to the State Police Headquarters in Minna for further investigation and prosecution.
