Elon Musk’s Father Confirms Billionaire’s Interest in Buying Liverpool Football Club

Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur behind Tesla, SpaceX, and X, with a net worth estimated at $418 billion, may be expanding his business empire into football.

During a recent interview with Times Radio in London, Errol Musk, the father of the world’s richest man, hinted at his son’s interest in acquiring Liverpool Football Club.

When asked by a reporter if Elon had expressed a desire to buy the club, Errol responded, “I can’t comment on that. They’ll raise the price,” with a laugh.

Pressed further, Errol conceded, “Oh, yes. But that doesn’t mean he’s buying it. He would like to, yes, obviously. Anybody would want to – so would I!”

Errol explained that Elon’s interest in Liverpool stems from a family connection to the city. “His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we had relatives there,” he revealed. “We were fortunate to know quite a lot of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family. So, we are attached to Liverpool, you know.”

Elon Musk has previously spoken fondly of his grandmother, who was born in 1923 and passed away in 2011. He described her as “an important part” of his childhood and recalled spending time in Merseyside during holidays.

“My Nana was one of the poor working-class girls with no one to protect her who might have been abducted in present-day Britain,” he wrote on X. “She was very strict, but also kind, and I could always count on her. She grew up very poor in England during the Great Depression, only to be bombed in World War II.”

“To earn money for food, she cleaned houses, leaving me with a lasting respect for those who do so,” he added.

The South African-born Tesla tycoon has previously stated that he is “from a British/English, not an Afrikaner background.”
