Ogun State Police Command Warns of Rise in Missing Persons Cases

The Ogun State Police Command has issued a warning regarding a significant increase in reports of missing people across all age groups.

In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, it was revealed that while a small proportion of these individuals are located, a concerning number do not return home.

Recognising the seriousness of this issue, the command is committed to raising public awareness and urging residents to prioritise their safety.

“As a proactive and community-oriented force,” stated SP Odutola, “we encourage everyone to maintain a heightened sense of security to avoid becoming victims.”

Commissioner of Police, Dr. Lanre Ogunlowo, has outlined several key measures to enhance resident safety. Based on insights from rescued individuals, the Commissioner urges parents to avoid using commercial transport services for their children with unknown individuals.

Furthermore, young people are encouraged to utilise digital communication and location-sharing features on their mobile devices, particularly during emergencies.
