The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of 45-year-old teacher, Stella Nwadigbo, who was caught on camera slapping a four-year-old pupil, Abayomi Michael, after he struggled to write the number “six” correctly.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the spokesperson for the police, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, reassured the public that justice would be served.
He wrote: “Child Abuse: One Stella Nwadigo, aged 45, the teacher who physically abused the 3-year-old Abayomi Micheal of Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, has been arrested by the police. She was arrested today, Tuesday 8th Jan, 2025, immediately after the criminal act. Justice must be served. Thanks.”
The video showing Nwadigbo repeatedly slapping the child sparked widespread outrage, leading to her swift arrest.
