The Nigerian Police Force has arrested Ihsanatu Shaaibu and her husband for the alleged physical abuse of their five-year-old stepdaughter, Fa’iza Bala, in Abuja.
The arrest follows the circulation of a viral video on social media depicting the alleged abuse.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Thursday 9th January 2025. He stated that the suspects will be prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations.
“We will keep you abreast of the proceedings. Thank you,” Adejobi added.
