A multi-vehicle collision occurred on Saturday morning on the Interchange section of the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway, leaving 11 people injured.
According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), the accident happened at around 7:30 am.
Akinbiyi stated that a Mazda minibus collided with a lorry attempting to enter the premises of a private company. A subsequent collision occurred when a Toyota Hiace minibus following behind lost control.

He explained, “A serious crash involving a truck and 18-seater passenger bus at Cway junction some few meters after Heyden filling station, interchange. According to an eye witness, the driver of the Mack truck was trying to manoeuvre to Cway company and due to the inpatient and excessive speed of the Mazda bus, which led to the crash also affecting a Toyota hiace bus that lost control immediately the driver sighted the accident upfront.”
Akinbiyi noted that 21 people were involved in the crash, with 11 sustaining injuries, including eight males and three females. The injured victims were transported to Idera Hospital in Shagamu by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).


The vehicles involved were a Mazda minibus with registration plate SMK 554 YH, a Mack lorry with registration plate FNN 934 XA, and a Toyota Hiace minibus with registration plate KJA 995 XA.
Emergency responders at the scene included TRACE personnel, FRSC officials, and the Police.
