South African actress and singer, Denise Zimba, has revealed that she recently discovered her childhood best friend, Mpumi Mdluli, has allegedly been having an affair with her husband, German national Jacob Schlichtig.
Denise, who shared the heartbreaking revelation in a post on X on Friday, 10th January, explained that her so-called best friend, who she has known since the age of 14, never celebrated her milestones, including her birthdays, baby showers, and even her bridal shower.
“Nothing worse than finding out your best friend since you were 14 years old, has been having an affair with your husband, and that’s why she always ghosted you when you were pregnant and never celebrated you – birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers,” Denise wrote on X.
In an effort to clear up false claims circulating online, Denise also addressed speculations about the identity of the alleged best friend, clarifying that the person involved is not the one pictured in her pinned post. “Wrong one. She’s black,” Denise responded, putting the rumours to rest.
This latest revelation comes just months after Denise shared her decision to leave Schlichtig, citing a compromising situation where she caught him engaging in inappropriate behaviour while texting another woman.
In a further exposé, Zimba posted photos of herself with Schlichtig and Mdluli from her wedding, adding, “These pictures land really different now … The day of my wedding, your speech, just two years ago … Little did I know.”
In June last year, she disclosed that Schlichtig had refused to purchase a plane ticket for her mother to visit and help her with their children, instead spending €900 on medical treatment for his sick cat.
Denise’s accusations were made public through court documents filed in the Johannesburg High Court, where she is opposing Schlichtig’s application for an order to force her to return their children to Germany, where he resides. Schlichtig claims that Denise unlawfully removed their children from the country.
