Bandits stormed Kankara General Hospital in Katsina State on Tuesday evening, 14th January 2025, resulting in the shooting of medical doctor Murtala Sale Dandashire and the abduction of five others.
Crisis and conflict journalist, Bakatsine, confirmed the incident on Wednesday, highlighting the urgent need for improved security measures in hospitals across Katsina State.
Dr. Dandashire, a native of Kankara LGA, was widely celebrated in 2019 for graduating as the overall best medical student at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
This attack marks the third hospital incident within the past three months, with previous attacks occurring at Kurfi General Hospital and Mai Tsani Hospital in Dutsin-ma LGA.
