Trump Sworn in as 47th US President for Historic Second Term

Donald Trump was sworn in on Monday for a historic second term as President, pledging to issue a series of immediate executive orders tackling immigration and cultural issues in the United States, marking the culmination of his extraordinary political comeback.

With one hand raised and the other resting on a Bible given to him by his mother, Trump, now the 47th President of the United States, took the oath of office solemnly beneath the majestic Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol, with Chief Justice John Roberts of the U.S. Supreme Court presiding.

This was the first time since 1985 that the swearing-in ceremony was held indoors due to extreme cold.

At his first inauguration in 2017, Trump was a political outsider. Now, at 78, he stands among America’s elite. The world’s wealthiest man, Elon Musk, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, and Google’s Sundar Pichai all had prime seats in the Capitol, alongside Trump’s family and cabinet members.
