Kenyan Police Arrest Man for Murdering and Dismembering Wife

Detectives in Nairobi, Kenya, have arrested a 29-year-old man, John Kiama Wambua, on suspicion of murdering and dismembering his wife, 19-year-old Joy Fridah Munani.

On Tuesday, 21st January 2025, at approximately 5:00 am, police officers on patrol near Kelly Towers in Huruma stopped Wambua as he was carrying a suspicious bag.

“While making their final morning patrol around Kelly Towers in Huruma at around 5 am, Huruma Police Patrol team stopped the suspect – John Kiama Wambua – who suspiciously clung to the heavy backpack,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) stated in a press release.

Upon further inspection, the bag was found to contain human body parts. During questioning, Wambua confessed that the remains belonged to his wife.

He then directed the detectives to his residence where they discovered more dismembered body parts concealed beneath his bed.

“In the single room with a blood-stained floor, a scene of unimaginable horror, officers also recovered a sharp knife and the victim’s blood-soaked clothing,” the DCI reported.

“It was also established that some body parts were still missing.”

Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) processed the scene and believe the bloodstained knife was the murder weapon.

Wambua is currently in police custody and will be brought before the court to face murder charges.

The DCI has launched an investigation to recover the remaining body parts and ascertain the motive behind this horrific crime.
