NDLEA Officer Injured During Drug Bust in Kano

An NDLEA officer sustained injuries during a drug raid in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State on 20th January 2025.

Two suspects, Musa Usman, 25, and Buhari Ya’u Bashir, 24, were apprehended during a targeted operation at Rahama Roundabout. The operation resulted in the seizure of 1.1 kilograms of cannabis sativa (hemp), 8 grams (38 tablets) of diazepam, and 59 grams (165 tablets) of Exol.

However, the operation was met with resistance when Musa Usman, armed with a dagger, attacked the officers, injuring one of them.

Reacting to the incident, Abubakar Idris Ahmad, the State Commander of the NDLEA, condemned the attack.

He stated: “Attacks on law enforcement officers in the line of duty will not deter us from carrying out our mission to rid society of the scourge of drug abuse and trafficking.”

Both suspects are currently in NDLEA custody and will face charges related to drug offences and assault on a law enforcement officer.
