A woman in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe, is currently receiving medical attention at Kwekwe Hospital after attempting suicide by consuming poison.
This drastic action followed the shocking discovery that her husband, Forbes Degwa, had secretly married another woman, Angeline Zvikomborero Mujanja, on 14th December last year.
Forbes Degwa, a senior manager at a local company, reportedly paid lobola for his second wife without informing his first wife, Alice. When Alice learned of the secret marriage, she was reportedly devastated, leading to the attempted suicide on 8th January.
Sources close to the matter confirmed that Angeline informed Alice about the lobola payment, triggering the tragic incident. Alice, who grew up as an orphan under the care of her late grandmother, has faced numerous emotional challenges throughout her life. This recent betrayal further compounded her struggles.
When contacted for comment, Forbes initially evaded questions and later ended the call. Angeline, however, denied any involvement, stating, “I don’t know anyone or anything about what you are talking about. I wasn’t married on the date you are referring to.
