Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has announced his separation from his wife, actress Annie Macaulay Idibia, and revealed that they have filed for divorce.
In a brief statement shared on his Instagram page, 2Baba addressed his fans, stating: “Hello to my beautiful people of all Federations.
“Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long. I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now. And currently filed divorce…”
He promised to release a press statement soon to share his side of the story, not for the public’s right to know, but to ensure his fans understand his position.
He added: “I would grant a press release soon to say my story… Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life; but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”
2Baba and Annie Macaulay were married in 2012 after a long and public relationship. However, 2Baba is known to have fathered children with other women before and during his marriage to Annie. He has seven children in total. With Annie, they have two children together: a daughter named Isabella Idibia (born in 2008) and a son named Olivia Idibia (born in 2014).
This news comes as a shock to many fans who have followed their journey together.
