Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has joined Championship club Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season, the club announced on their official website.
The experienced forward arrives from La Liga side Sevilla.
Iheanacho, 28, brings a wealth of experience to the Riverside Stadium, having played at the highest level in both the Premier League and La Liga. His career boasts over 300 appearances with 85 goals scored, and he has also been a key player for the Nigerian national team, netting 15 goals in 57 international appearances.
The former Manchester City and Leicester City forward began his professional career at Manchester City at the age of 18, winning the League Cup. He later moved to Leicester City in 2017, playing a crucial role in their promotion-winning campaign last season. Following their promotion to the Premier League, Iheanacho joined Sevilla during the summer transfer window, scoring three goals in 11 appearances for the Spanish club.
The loan move is subject to EFL approval, and Iheanacho is expected to join up with the Middlesbrough squad in the coming days.
