Argentine Top-Flight Match Suspended After Official Injured

The Argentine Primera División match between Godoy Cruz and Talleres Córdoba was suspended late on Tuesday after an assistant referee was struck by an object thrown from the crowd.

Referee Yael Falcon Perez stopped play and called for medical assistance for linesman Diego Martin, who was bleeding from his forehead. Perez was seen picking up a thin tube from the pitch.

The match, which was still 0-0, was suspended just before the start of the second half.

Earlier in the game, a header from Godoy Cruz midfielder Nicolás Fernández was disallowed after a lengthy VAR review. The goal, which would have given his team a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute, was ruled offside.
