Former NYSC Director-General and retired Major General, Maharazu Tsiga, has been abducted in Katsina State.
The kidnapping occurred around midnight on Wednesday, 5th February, in Tsiga village, Bakori Local Government Area.
Tsiga was reportedly taken along with several other residents during an attack by armed assailants. A local resident confirmed the incident to Channels Television by telephone on Thursday, 6th February, stating that the attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the former NYSC Director-General’s residence.
Eyewitnesses report that two residents were wounded during the brief attack, and one of the assailants was killed by friendly fire. While eyewitnesses have identified Tsiga as being among those kidnapped, state government officials and the police have yet to release an official statement.
