Former Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo has been inducted into Olympique Marseille’s Club of Legends.
This honour recognises Taiwo’s significant contributions to the club, placing him alongside notable figures such as Samir Nasri, Mamadou Niang, and Paulo Cezar.

Taiwo enjoyed an impressive club career, playing for top European teams including AC Milan and Marseille, and also had a spell in the English Premier League with QPR.
Marseille was Taiwo’s first European club, where he spent six years, making 271 appearances and scoring 25 goals, with 23 assists.
During his time at Marseille, he won Ligue 1, the League Cup, and the French Super Cup before moving to AC Milan in 2011.
Regarded as one of Nigeria’s greatest left-backs, Taiwo earned 54 caps for the Super Eagles between 2004 and 2011, scoring five goals. He retired from professional football in 2019.
